I loved, loved, loved and still love this album.  Sam Sever was on his way to being an incredible producer in my eyes and then he disappeared along with his partner in rhyme Bosco Money.  Anyhow - the instrumentals live on and they live on well.

A tribute instrumental.  One of the dozens and dozens of beats that Madlib puts out every month.  A lot can be hit or miss or just completely standard.  This one is a hit to my ears.

Strictly Beats: DJ Premier - Return Of The Crooklyn Dodgers (Instrumental)

Primo sampled The Young Holt Trio for this classic cut.  It makes me think that a lot of these producers usually just sampled the intros to songs for years but it doesn't matter.  Digging in the crates and finding gems like these is what all boils down to.

Another favorite of mine from back in the day.  Definitely one of "THE" beats that got me wanting to be a producer.

Strictly Beats: Godfather Don (For Ultramagnetic MC'S) - Raise It Up (Instrumental)

One of my favorite cuts off of this album.  I liked Godfather Don on his debut album "Hazardous" and liked him on here.  Then over the past few years I caught up on all the stuff he had dropped in the late 90's and early 00's that I had slept on.  A very solid beat maker who never got the real props he deserved.  Anyhow here is one of his many great instrumental tracks.
