Ghostface - Run (Digital Remix)
Mysterio incorporated the movie "Heat" to match up with the classic verses from Ghost's song and layered multiple instruments over a crunchy drum track to compliment the intensity.

Strictly Beats: CMW - Growin' Up In The Hood (Funky Piano Remix) (Instrumental)
Sampling Joe Simon's "Theme for Cleopatra Jones" set the mood for this excellent song by CMW but what really gets me on this funky piano remix is the piano. Incredible stuff just like the Three Times Dope "Funky Dividends" (Extended Piano Mix).

Strictly Beats: DJ Premier - Now You're Mine (Instrumental)
Recently I was listening to this song and I could not help but rewind, replay, rewind and replay again and again. So simple yet so intoxicating. Another testament to Primo's credo that less is always more.

Strictly Beats: People Under The Stairs - San Francisco Knights
The instrumental for the song by P.U.T.S. delivers a nostalgia vibe to a city I have visited but never lived in but wish I had. The original source material has been covered numerous times so the fact they used the sample doesn't bother me at all because they deliver the concept extremely well with their lyrics and effective and complimentary drum kit.

Strictly Beats: Diamond D - A Day In The Life
This track produced Diamond, before he dropped the "D", is one of my favorites. His other solo albums were crap in comparison to his debut sample filled masterpiece. This is one instrumental cut I played over and over on the 12" record it was released on.

Strictly Beats: Madvillain - Money Folder
Another classic instrumental from one of my favorite sample filled albums of the decade of the 2000's.

Strictly Beats: Doug E. Fresh - Keep Rising To The Top (Instrumental)
One of the reasons I got into production. Will always love this track. Keni Burke provided the original sample but Doug AND the Bomb Squad took it straight to my ears and heart. Classic.

Method Man, Redman & L.L. Cool J - 4, 3, 2, 1 (Analog Remix)
Mysterio took out one emcee from the equation but inserted himself into the mix keeping up with the 4,3,2,1 vibe. What results is a darker mix filled with creeping analog sounds over a crunchy break beat and 808 kick.

Strictly Beats: Downtown Science - Radioactive (Instrumental)
I loved, loved, loved and still love this album. Sam Sever was on his way to being an incredible producer in my eyes and then he disappeared along with his partner in rhyme Bosco Money. Anyhow - the instrumentals live on and they live on well.
Radioactive (Instrumental)
Strictly Beats: Madlib - J's Day Theme 3 (Support)
A tribute instrumental. One of the dozens and dozens of beats that Madlib puts out every month. A lot can be hit or miss or just completely standard. This one is a hit to my ears.

Strictly Beats: DJ Premier - Return Of The Crooklyn Dodgers (Instrumental)
Primo sampled The Young Holt Trio for this classic cut. It makes me think that a lot of these producers usually just sampled the intros to songs for years but it doesn't matter. Digging in the crates and finding gems like these is what all boils down to.

Strictly Beats: Run DMC - You Be Illin' (Instrumental)
Another favorite of mine from back in the day. Definitely one of "THE" beats that got me wanting to be a producer.

Strictly Beats: Godfather Don (For Ultramagnetic MC'S) - Raise It Up (Instrumental)
One of my favorite cuts off of this album. I liked Godfather Don on his debut album "Hazardous" and liked him on here. Then over the past few years I caught up on all the stuff he had dropped in the late 90's and early 00's that I had slept on. A very solid beat maker who never got the real props he deserved. Anyhow here is one of his many great instrumental tracks.

Strictly Beats: ELP for Cannibal Ox - Iron Galaxy
Along with "I Phantom" this is the other favorite beat, of mine, that ELP created for Cannibal Ox. Just some wild, raw shit here.

Mysterio's Picks: The Beef Selection
Where would hip hop be without a little beef? The energy inspired by diss tracks is insurmountable. A deep cut getting under another emcees skin is especially good when it is fit with a well seasoned beat. These tracks were selected by Mysterio and served up on a dish that is best served cold.

Strictly Beats: Black Sheep - Strobelite Honey
Another solid production from the Black Sheep's debut album. A smooth cut which I mixed back in the day - rotating the two records back and forth. That is when DJ's bought vinyl and always bought two copies.

Strictly Beats: 45 King - Blue Street
The original crate digger whipped up a smooth track here from back in the day. Definitely a pioneer in hip hop beat making.

Strictly Beats: J-Dilla - Anti-American Graffitti
Jay Dee flipped "Family Tree" by Tin Tin and got me hooked. Whether listening to Doom rip it or just listening to the lovely instrumental I can never get enough. Impeccable material right here.

Plus Minus (Instrumental)
The instrumental created by Mysterio for a song by Kwote and Cise off of Universal Sounds "Time-Space Continuum" album back in 2001.

Strictly Beats: Buckwild - Miss Those Days (Instrumental)
I wonder how true it is that Celph Titled just rapped over some dusty Buckwild beats made back in the mid 90's. Either way - it doesn't matter when they were made as this is an excellent example of the dope production found on their team-up album.
Miss Those Days (Instrumental)
