Horns on Broadway

Dusty drums set the backdrop for the smoothed out sounds Mysterio dug up for this track he created in 1995. Filled with wah wah guitars and various horns over a funky little loop.

12 Notes

There are only twelve notes a person can play and Mysterio decided to play them all with twelve different instruments. What resulted is a free jazz inspired improvisational song with vocals provided by Timothy Leary.

Mysterio & Rakim - I Know You Got Soul (70's Remix)

In 2010 Milt Jackson, Stanley Turrentine and The Silver Connection all came together under the guidance of Mysterio to revise this classic song from Rakim. Some may say it was an impossibility, a seance shrouded in dark magic but the end result is simply fascinating.

At one point during the recording session Jimi Hendrix stopped by and began to bug out on the microphone and added his own two cents in terms of song dedication. He even gave Mysterio a few tips on his guitar which added some spice to the song.

The drums snap in an old school boom bap fashion over the riding bass line where a clavinet is sprinkled leisurely with horns echoing ever so slightly in the background. Later on Mysterio added some cuts and sound effects to compliment the cuts laid down by Eric B years ago.

In the end Rakim took control of this masterpiece in a fashion that only the 18th Letter could.

Winter - The Video

Huevos Rancheros - The Video

Winter

Life can be cold in the winter months so Mysterio decided to heat things up with Peggy Lee which resulted in a feverish collaboration. Over an umptempo acid jazz track Peggy delivers some soothing vocals.

Huevos Rancheros

Mysterio's ode to food and drink inspired by Cheech and Chong's glorious trip to Amsterdam in the 1980's.

Slick Rick - Mistakes (Digital Remix)

Robert De Niro kicks off the track with some choice dialogue from the the film "Casino" regarding his relationship within that movie.  The rhythm of the song itself is a nod to the Beatles complete with a bird chirping.  Mysterio lays in some kick and snare cuts as Slick Rick tells his tale of woes over the soundscape.

Spaced Tonga - The Video

Spaced Tonga

Mysterio was inspired by the constant thump from the bar/club downstairs from his loft. Till 3:00 am "thump/thump/thump" was heard. So he decided to venture into the territory of that type of music and give his own take on it. Spaced out vibes smother the uptempo track making the listener want to lay back and contemplate or get up and dance.

Danger (by Claw)

I found this little gem created by Claw. I like this track a lot but have no clue when he crafted this cut.
