Strictly Beats: Lovage - Stroker Ace

At first look it seemed to be on some "Garth Mahrenghi" steez.  Not so much tongue in cheek, besides the cover.  This is some smooth instrumentation right here.

Strictly Beats: The Roots - Proceed Without a Pause (Instrumental)

Classic instrumentation from The Roots.  I remember seeing them perform numerous times and even was at the shooting of "Brooklyn Babylon" where they performed with this Hassidic Jew (forgot his name - he was "big" at the time).  That was the movie where Black Thought's character fell in love with a Jewish girl.  Anyhow - let me stop rambling...

De La Soul - Breakadawn (Analog Remix)

Another live drum kit mixed in with smooth jazz samples to give a new supplement to the classic De La track.  Vitamin F for Fresh.

Grand Daddy I.U. - Represent (Analog Remix)

Mysterio stepped up to the boards and gave the "U" a funky beat to "represent" on.  Jazz fusion samples were chopped and inserted over a live drum kit which changes almost every bar to compliment the lava like flow of the Grand Daddy.

Strictly Beats: J-Swift (for The Pharcyde) - On the D.L. (Instrumental)

The horns, the bass, and the vibes as well as the Meters drums all come together well for this track produced by J-Swift for The Pharcyde on their multi-layered debut album.

Strictly Beats: DJ Premier for Group Home - Supa Star

Primo blessed these two mediocre emcees with some seriously dope production on their debut album.  Guru's production is extremely weak on the album but thankfully he only produced two tracks.  Anyhow here is one of the stand outs on the album with several samples used and glued together well by DJ Premier.

Strictly Beats: J Rawls - Heeey

Definitely one of the great albums produced this year on the "indie" tip.  Solid production work from J.

Strictly Beats: Ed O.G. - Skinny Dip (Got It Goin On) (Instrumental)

I actually can remember being stoned back in the summer of 1993 listening to this song over and over and over.  Both the main song and the instrumental.  Great stuff here.

Makin Moves (Instrumental)

Not sure which producer created this cut back in the hey days of U.N.I. Sounds.

Strictly Beats: Metallica - Orion [Instrumental]

I'd love to see that knob Lars try to sue me.  Twat.  Anyhow him and his team did inspire me years ago with this incredible, monumental, metal instrumental.  Cheers.

Strictly Beats: Stoupe (for Jedi Mind Tricks) - I Against I (Instrumental)

Sampling Cal Tjader one can usually not go wrong and Stoupe picked a good sample from his catalog to do so on the song he produced for Jedi Mind Tricks.  Excellent digging.

Strictly Beats: John Murphy - Mercury

The movie "Sunshine" was one of the few sci-fi movies that I really dug since "Event Horizon" (which most people either love or hate).  Anyway - the music provided by John Murphy pushes this one ahead for me.  Definitely some inspirational music arrangement put together right here.

Strictly Beats: Mathematics - Mighty Healthy (Instrumental)

Using the most overused breakbeats and breathing new life onto them is a hard feat to do but Mathematics did an excellent job with this instrumental he produced for Ghostface.

Strictly Beats: ED O.G. - Love Comes & Goes (Instrumental)

I sampled plenty of George Benson in my days and ED O.G. caught the right sample twenty second into the song "Face It Boy, It's Over".  When this dropped I had it on repeat.

Strictly Beats: The Demigodz - Don't You Even Go There (Instrumental)

This album is filled with incredible beats.  This be one of them.  The hook by Lauryn is infectious.  The guitars and drums compliment each other delivering a head nodding vibe.

Strictly Beats: Ice-T & DJ Aladdin - Pulse of the Rhyme

Another clever cut off the "OG" album by Ice-T.  The samples used and cuts inserted set a dark tone for Ice to deliver some graphically, vivid rhymes over.
